This clean Italian seasoning blend is a staple in my kitchen. It’s a simple mix of dried herbs and spices — no preservatives, anti-caking agents, or mystery ingredients. Use it to flavor roasted veggies, season proteins, or mix into homemade salad dressings like we did in the Black-Eyed Pea Salad. A perfect way to simplify clean eating without sacrificing flavor.
***All of my recipes are gluten-free, dairy-free, blood sugar-friendly, and gut-supportive. We are all different so you may need to make adjustments based on your body’s unique needs.***
Ingredients:
- 4 Tbsp crushed dried parsley
- 4 tsp dried onion flakes
- 2 tsp crushed dried basil
- 1 tsp ground oregano
- 1 tsp ground thyme
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp sea salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions:
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl or spice jar.
- Stir or shake well to combine.
- Store in an airtight jar in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Recipe Notes:
- For a finer texture, pulse in a spice grinder or mortar and pestle.
- Use 1–2 teaspoons in place of store-bought Italian seasoning in any recipe.
- To make a quick Italian vinaigrette: Mix 1 tsp seasoning with 2–3 Tbsp olive oil and 1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice.
